Is there a way to see which features are not mapped to objectives?

Hi,We are using objectives as ‘initiatives’ to track bigger themes which we do on a quarterly basis. We would like to make sure that all the features assigned to the upcoming sprints are part of an objective… So i’m trying to create a view of all features assigned to a specific sprint but do not have an objective. Is there a way to do that? I’ve only found ways to filter features according to a specific objective, but I couldn’t find a way of doing ‘objective: none’ kind of filter. Any ideas?

Automate CSV Export

Hi,Is there any way to get data about notes from Productboard automatically?I know about this manual approach:https://support.productboard.com/hc/en-us/articles/360056354854-Export-your-features-and-notes-into-CSVbut can´t find way to automate this process.We don´t have Zapier, only Integromat. REST API would be best :).Thank you for any tips.

Custom fields on features/subfeatures

I’m on a Enterprise plan. - Can’t seem to locate, where I’m adding custom fields to Products, Features, Subfeatures. - I see a default ‘Member’-field called Designer on a Feature - How do I create additional fields of this type, and are there other field-types available? (URL, text, numbers, dropdown, etc)

Salesforce Integration with Opportunities

Regarding the Salesforce integration and importing closed Salesforce opportunities. When you set the filter you only seem to be able to use the AND command to link criteria together?I have the need to import two different types of opportunity (Opp Type is Maintenance OR Opp Type is Managed Service) but because its an AND I cannot do it as the Opp Type is never a Maintenance and Managed Service opportunity it is one or the other.Is there a way to do this or do I need to try and find a common field in the opportunity that is always present in both?RegardsDarren

Deeper Discovery from Insights

HiWe are really loving the Insights feature :-) We are currently getting about 250 Insights created a month, mostly from our portals, and we are looking to grow this. There are lots of cases where we want to chat to the user who left the insight more to better understand their context, and we can contact them through email, however this isn’t a particularly scalable experience as we have to extract the email address, contact them privately and then update the insight.We also see an opportunity to use these contacts for other discovery topics but again we need to contact the user by email to ask if they would be interested in helping us. I’d also like their explicit permission to do this to be in line with GDPR. At the moment I’m thinking of manually gathering the emails from insights each week and sending them a Google Form to ask if they would be willing to collaborate on discovery in the future but this is not at all scalable. Do you have any suggestions that could help with this cha

Roadmap view: from Now/Next/Later to Kanban

Hello, I created a Roadmap view with the Now Next Later view (based on released dimension) but I would like to change it to a Kanban view based on status dimension. Is it possible to update the current roadmap or is it mandatory to create a new one each time I want to have a different view? Thanks

API Support for Effort/Progress

Hello, I was wondering if it’s possible through the ProductBoard API to update feature progress and the effort attribute.We use Shortcut for engineering ticket tracking and want to pull epic point estimates into ProductBoard so that we can track release progress in a roadmap.I started to play around with a custom formula to track release progress but it doesn’t look like I can visualize custom formulas or fields on the roadmap.

How to use tags for features?

Hi! I am just starting out using Productboard for an App I am building and I am struggling for where to assign Tags on the Hierarchy. I am trying JTBD Framework, so I might have something like this…Customize Interface (Component) Choose Preference From Limited Options (SubComponent) Font Choice (Feature) Font Size (SubFeature) Font Family (SubFeature) Let’s say I want to put a “ ui ” tag on these, I find myself putting it on each level, but that seems excessive. Just starting out, I am not sure all the ways the tag filter is utilized throughout ProductBoard so I am uncertain of the best approach. Any recommendations, how do you assign tags in your hierarchy?

Bulk assignment of insight to one feature?

Hello, I just imported 100 insight with the CSV Import. I would like to assign all 100 insight to one feature. It seems that I have to do it manually one by one. As we are just onboarding to Productboard and that I have to move all my insight from my previous tool, I have more than a 1 000 insight to move and reassign manually… it is really annoying. Seems that may be Automation route could do a trick if routing all new insight to a fake feature call inbox (then mass migrating those insight to the proper feature), but it is not allow for all package? Could you at least unlock it for a month when a new company sign to your tool to make the migration easier? thanks

How can I set the user's name to a Note trough custom fields API?

Is there a way that I can set the user’s name when creating a note using the Custom Fields API? We are using the notes-api to create a note on behalf of an identified user. Putting the user’s email address into the user object creates a user in Productboard, but I cannot find any way to set name of the user without looping trough all users.I would say an easy enhancement to the api would be the following:Add name to the note.user object when creating a note Extend GET users with query-parameters for external_id and email allowing PATCH /user/{id} to be used as an alternative

Prioritisation with the business (outside of Productboard first)

We use Productboard both to prioritise discovery activity and then prioritise development work. Both steps involve asking “the business” (marketing, sales, customer success, service delivery, etc.) what’s important to them. However, at discovery prioritisation, doing it “live” in Productboard doesn’t work for us, as there’s not enough time. We need a way to circulate those up for prioritisation ahead of time, allowing the business to rank order / give a priority score to each. Then come together to compare and set a final priority within Productboard. We’re currently exporting a CSV, filtering, and then letting each business unit do their pre-work ahead of our call for setting final priority. This is not a great solution and is super manual. How do other people do it? I’m close to asking for some dev time to look at API and see if I can do something with a script and some Google Sheets and Python! Cheers!

Is there a document-like view for requirement specification?

Hi,we are a small software product team of three developers and two designers.I really see the benefit of using Productboard to manage features and bugs of a product - and being able to prioritize and link from the user (Portal) to the designers (Trello in our case) and developers (Github).The tabular view of Productboard is great for prioritization and assigning tasks, but I miss a more document-like view, that could be read like a software requirements specification (SRS). Especially when onboarding new users - there seems to be just a long list of features in the hierarchy. Am I missing something?I would prefer a readable document with the functional, business and technical requirements structured into meaningful headers and sections and adding comments if necessary.Would love to see how are using Productboard with or without separate documents!

Markdown rather than HTML?

(Sorry, I’m not sure if this is the best category for this question)I’m building an API bridge between productboard and ClickUp using Rails. I’ve made a fair bit of progress since my last message here, but have stumbled upon another potential issue, which I’d like some advice on, please.Reviewing the API documentation, I see that it used to supply the feature description as markdown, but at some point last year this got changed to HTML.Does anyone know why?This is causing some issues for me, as ClickUp will only accept plan text or markdown for descriptions, which means I need to convert the HTML from productboard into markdown if I want to keep my formatting. I have the ability to do that via some gems (Kramdown being the one I’ve tried thus far), but the results are less than ideal, with some of the formatting being off.Has anyone else had an issue like this, and do you have any suggestions on how I might be able to resolve it? Thanks.

Productboard adoption metrics and key results

I am trying to establish “healthy” Productboard adoption metrics for the company I am working for as a consultant (CDK Global - software development for the automotive industry), and I was wondering what others have implemented for their organizations. I am trying to stay away from “vanity” metrics, like the % increase in the number of makers, and use more impactful metrics, like % increase in the number of active makers. Please let me know your thoughts.When would you say that an organization has “fully” adopted Productboard? Also, what would be the Key Results by which you could assess the adoption process? (just an example: if in average, 90% of all the Productboard makers at company X are active, then we have full adoption). This is the type of information I am looking for.Any advice is highly appreciated!Thank you!Cristian Dumitrescu

High level roadmap views

Hi, I have a question if you want to have a high level roadmap view have you find a way to solve this? Usually in the roadmap views you’ll see the feature and components but for leadership for example they don’t care about the nitty gritty but more a high level view of when things will be done. If you see image attached I would just have the blue bars instead of the things below is that possible? Thanks,

Hello Product People 👋We’ve been scaling our Product and GTM teams, now we’d love to get smarter in handling insights.I’ve watched the clinic “Managing Insights - At Scale” as well as the (excellent) session “How Productboard uses Productboard” from last month’s customer event. Both point to the importance of a decent & documented tagging structure to create shared understanding and onboard new contributors.I’d appreciate to hear from other teams how you’ve approached tagging insights. What worked? What failed? If you’re curious about how some folks approach continuous discovery with Productboard, @Amir_Rozenberg just wrote a piece on Medium about his experiences and how he approaches this and the benefits he’s seen in this approach.
