@jamesqhr it may be interesting to have a group focused on medical, regardless of software or hardware product. This group would be beneficial because we share many of the same frustrations, FDA regulations, hospital compliance, etc. 

I don’t have any interest in medical hardware, but healthcare software is in my wheelhouse.

Hi All. So I’ve been in the pharmacy side of healthcare one way or the other for 15 years now. I did co-found a startup 20 2013 that involved basic devices and software aimed at pharmacies but have been managing pharmacy procurement and inventory software for the last three years.

I actually enjoy the challenge that comes with having to match the software experience with the hardware one. Two different management experiences though for sure. In my experience, good hardware development is much closer to Waterfall than it is to Agile. Ideally you have some experiments and POC’s up front to iterate from before you get too far but the cost and and design factors just play out differently. That said, I haven’t done anything with say 3D printers or something that may make experimenting quicker and more cost effective. The challenge there IMO is you’re limited to sizes and materials in a way that either works for the product offering/business or it doesn’t (unless your resources are such that you can build teams around the differences.)
