We are excited to announce that Formulas is now LIVE!

What’s new?

Create your own prioritization formulas
- Include numeric values such as 100 or 0.25
- Include operators such as ( ) +
- Include custom number fields
- Include the effort field
Use numeric values or decimals in the custom number fields when prioritizing
Sort features by your custom formula
Use the pre-defined RICE score to get started or modify it and make it your own

Why is it valuable?

PMs can easily add well known prioritization frameworks such as RICE, WSJF or create their own formulas
Use less time in sheets and prioritize in Productboard while having all of your insights just next to you
Centralize your formulas and communicate formula changes to your colleagues using comments

What is next?
We are currently working on the ability to include User Impact Score, Segments, Drivers etc. in Formulas.

Great news @Claus! (And congrats in the first bigger feature release at PB 💪)
One thing I think would be cool to add to the “Whats next” list is “prioritisation poker”, i.e. the ability to invite x relevant stakeholders to provide their perspective on what the score is for each (relevant) prioritisation parameter in realtime (e.g. workshop) or a-sync. I am not arguing to prioritise by committee, but in the same way as when one does estimation poker, being able to facilitate a collaborative prioritisation poker, is an effective way of surfacing on which parameters relevant stakeholders disagree, which in turns spans insights generating discussions. Final decision should of course be with the PM :)

Hi @Claus I am getting to grips with the new formula option, and think this is a fantastic feature.

Is there a way to stop the component levels from adding all the scores up though? I am using the default RICE score and for individual features it works great.

The issue I am having is due to using components, and the component level totalling all the scores under it. In some instances this is a great behaviour, but in others like RICE this skews the scoring, as the more features you have under a component the higher the score will be. Is there a way to turn the totalling up option off at the component level?
