Upon joining Productboard, you receive a welcome package that includes, among other things, a copy of Inspired by Marty Cagan. After finishing the book, I can see why it is essential reading.
My biggest takeaway from the book is the tremendous impact product managers have on an organization's ability to create impactful products that delight customers.
Product managers are in the unique position of having access to insights from many different people, both inside and outside of the organization, including users, sales, customer support, engineering, and organizational leadership. As a result, they see a birds-eye-view of both the problem and the resources available to create the right solution.
But I imagine that being in this position puts a great deal of pressure on product managers and can, at times, create a feeling of isolation within an organization.
Product managers, I'm wondering your thoughts on Inspired by Marty Cagan? What were your key takeaways?
